Inlaks Appoints Former Interswitch Co-Founder, Charles Ifedi as CEO

Inlaks, a leading systems integrator and ICT solutions provider in Sub-Saharan Africa, has announced the appointment of Charles Ifedi as the new Chief Executive Officer for its Africa Operations.

Ifedi, a seasoned business executive and technology entrepreneur, brings over 25 years of global experience in fintech innovation and digital transformation to the role. He succeeds Henry Okolo, who served as interim CEO and now returns to his position on the company’s Board of Directors.

Well known as a pioneer in Africa’s fintech and digital payments landscape, Ifedi co-founded Interswitch and served as the first CEO of Verve International, steering it to become the continent’s leading card payment brand. He is also the founder of eBanqo, a conversational AI company focused on revolutionizing customer engagement.

Speaking on the appointment, Inlaks Chairman Mohammed Hayatudeen said, “We are pleased to welcome Charles Ifedi as our new Chief Executive Officer. Ifedi’s career includes strategic roles at global organizations such as American Express, PwC, and Accenture, with experience spanning Africa, Europe, and the United States. He holds a First-Class Honours degree in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin, an MBA from Cranfield University in the UK, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Georgia State University in the U.S.
