Meet the 22-Year-Old Powering Veefin’s $6bn Fintech Vision in Nigeria

At just 22 years old, Miracle Nwankwo has already carved a remarkable path in Nigeria’s tech and finance landscape. The CEO of Veefin Nigeria, Miracle’s journey from a self-taught coder to the helm of a leading fintech company is a testament to vision, hard work, and strategic thinking.

Miracle’s passion for technology began in secondary school when he first explored his school’s ICT lab. Inspired by tech pioneers like Mark Zuckerberg, he taught himself coding using online resources and hackathons, quickly building a portfolio that would pave the way for entrepreneurial ventures. His first significant project was freelancing, earning ₦60,000 from initial gigs a modest start that foreshadowed much bigger ambitions.

By 19, Miracle co-founded BookClinic, a health-tech platform that allowed users to book diagnostic services in Lagos. BookClinic raised $20,000 in seed funding in 2023, marking a major milestone for the young entrepreneur. However, operational challenges forced the company to pause. Rather than seeing this as a setback, Miracle leveraged the experience to learn, grow, and position himself for greater opportunities.

That opportunity came when an investor introduced him to Veefin, a global Indian fintech company eyeing expansion in Africa. In February 2025, Miracle assumed the role of CEO for Veefin Nigeria, which officially launched its regional operations by August. The company, handling over $6 billion in transactions globally, focuses on supply chain finance, digital lending, and enterprise financial solutions. Under Miracle’s leadership, Veefin Nigeria aims to optimize working capital for banks and corporates while driving financial inclusion across the continent.

Miracle’s vision goes beyond corporate success. He is committed to empowering African businesses, creating jobs, and enhancing access to financial services. Veefin Nigeria under his guidance is not just a fintech branch; it is a catalyst for economic growth, bridging gaps between technology, banking, and enterprise development.

From launching BookClinic to leading Veefin Nigeria, Miracle Nwankwo embodies the next generation of African leaders: bold, innovative, and relentless in the pursuit of progress. At 22, he is proof that age is no barrier to impact, and with Veefin Nigeria, he is shaping the future of Africa’s fintech landscape.
