The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has once again affirmed its tradition of elevating excellence, announcing the emergence of Queensley Sofuratu Seghosime, mni, FCA, as its President-Elect, a moment that not only celebrates an individual career of distinction but also signals a defining shift toward deeper institutional impact and forward-thinking leadership.
Her emergence is not just a celebration of an illustrious career, it is a defining moment that reflects the Institute’s commitment to strong, visionary leadership at a time of evolving professional and economic realities.

In Seghosime, ICAN presents a leader whose professional journey is both expansive and deeply impactful. A seasoned Chartered Accountant and accomplished tax administrator, she brings over four decades of experience across finance, governance, strategy, audit, dispute resolution and public sector reform. Her career has not been defined merely by time, but by the depth of influence she has exerted in shaping institutions and strengthening systems.
For 26 years, she operated at leadership levels where her decisions directly influenced outcomes and organizational direction. Her tenure at the Federal Inland Revenue Service stands as a cornerstone of her legacy. Serving in multiple senior capacities, including Coordinating Director of Compliance and Enforcement, she played a critical role in advancing Nigeria’s tax administration system.
Her expertise extended onto the global stage through her representation on international platforms such as the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, where she contributed to global discussions on transparency, compliance and information exchange.
Beyond public service, she continues to shape the private sector as Chief Executive Officer and Head of Advisory Services at Quebaan Professional Services. In this role, she supports organizations in achieving long term strategic objectives through effective execution, governance and disciplined leadership. Her ability to operate seamlessly across both public and private sectors underscores a rare versatility, one that has consistently translated into measurable results and institutional success.
Her influence also extends into policy and regulatory development. As a former board member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, she contributed to strengthening financial reporting standards and advancing corporate transparency in Nigeria. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an alumna of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies. She also serves as a Commissioner of the Tax Appeal Tribunal, reinforcing her role within Nigeria’s fiscal and regulatory ecosystem.
