Nigerian Breweries Announces Leadership Appointment of Nkechi Runsewe

Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced the appointment of Nkechi Runsewe as Human Resources Director, effective August 1, 2026, marking a significant leadership addition to the company’s executive team.

Runsewe joins from The HEINEKEN Company, where she most recently served as Global Head of Talent Management. In that role, she led global talent strategy across multiple operating companies, strengthening leadership pipelines, improving succession readiness, and advancing performance and development frameworks designed to sustain long-term organisational excellence.

Her appointment reflects a deep and intentional investment by Nigerian Breweries in strengthening its people and culture agenda as the business continues to evolve in a competitive and dynamic market.

Over the course of her career, Nkechi has built an extensive track record across global and African markets, holding senior leadership roles at HEINEKEN, Diageo, Etisalat, and M-Net Africa. She began her professional journey at Accenture as a Management Consultant, where she developed a strong foundation in organisational transformation and business advisory.

A certified Global Talent Management Leader (GTML™), she is widely recognised for her expertise in designing high-performance cultures, developing leadership capability, and embedding structured talent systems that align people strategy with business growth. In her most recent capacity at HEINEKEN, she also championed employee listening frameworks and initiatives aimed at enhancing engagement, inclusion, and workforce effectiveness across global teams.

Her appointment comes as Grace Omo-Lamai prepares to retire on July 28 after nearly a decade of distinguished service marked by strong leadership and lasting contributions to the organisation’s human capital development.

Nigerian Breweries Plc expressed gratitude to Grace for her impactful tenure and extended a warm welcome to Nkechi Runsewe, expressing confidence in her ability to lead the company’s next phase of human capital transformation and organisational growth.
