Simcity School, Omu, Ogun State has marked its 10th anniversary, celebrating a decade of providing education and supporting the academic, moral, social and creative development of children.
The anniversary celebration brought together students, parents, teachers, alumni, friends of the school and other guests to commemorate the institution’s 10 years of operation and reflect on its growth since establishment.
Founded and led by Mrs. Rebecca Omolade Ahonsi, Proprietress of Simcity School, Omu, the institution has grown into a school providing education from the nursery and elementary levels through primary and secondary education.
Over the years, the school has continued to develop its academic structure, with pupils and students progressing through the different stages of their education and graduating from the nursery, primary and secondary levels.
A major highlight of the school’s academic development has been the performance of its students in external examinations. More than 100 students who participated in the most recent West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) recorded excellent results, according to the school.

The performance, the school said, reflects its continued emphasis on academic development and preparation of students for further education and future opportunities.
Speaking at the anniversary celebration, Ahonsi expressed appreciation to God, parents, members of staff, students and other stakeholders who have contributed to the growth of the school since its establishment.
She described the 10-year journey as one characterised by commitment, learning, resilience and continuous improvement, noting that the vision behind the establishment of Simcity School remained centred on giving children a strong educational foundation and values that would prepare them for responsible adulthood.
“Ten years is a significant milestone for us, and we are deeply grateful for how far Simcity School has come. We have watched children grow, develop confidence, discover their abilities and become better prepared for the future. This celebration is not only about looking back; it is also about looking forward to the greater things ahead,” she said.
The anniversary programme featured cultural performances, musical presentations, award presentations, speeches, students’ exhibitions and other activities, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their talents and achievements.
The event also featured recognition of individuals who have contributed to the development of the school over the years, while members of staff were appreciated for their roles in teaching, mentoring and supporting students.
Ahonsi said the school’s development over the past decade had been supported by the commitment of its staff and the continued partnership of parents and other stakeholders.
She noted that the journey from the early years of the school to having students progress through nursery, primary and secondary education had been significant, adding that the institution remained focused on providing continuity in learning and development for its students.

As it enters its second decade, Simcity School, Omu, said it would continue to focus on academic development, innovation and improvements in its educational approach.
The school also reaffirmed its commitment to creating a learning environment where children can develop their abilities, build character and acquire the knowledge and skills needed to navigate a changing world.
With students progressing from the early years through primary and secondary education, alongside graduation milestones and strong performance in external examinations, the 10th anniversary marked a significant point in Simcity School’s history and the beginning of another phase of its development under the leadership of Ahonsi.
