Meta has acquired autonomous AI startup Manus in a deal valued at more than $2 billion, marking one of the tech giant’s most significant bets yet on general purpose artificial intelligence agents designed to execute complex real world tasks at scale.
The acquisition positions Manus at the center of Meta’s expanding AI strategy as the company moves beyond generative tools toward autonomous systems capable of independently handling research, coding, automation, and advanced data analysis. With the deal, Manus joins Meta while continuing to operate its core services, subscriptions, and business operations from Singapore.
Founded on the vision of building execution ready AI, Manus has quickly emerged as a global leader in autonomous general purpose agents. Since launching its first General AI Agent earlier this year, the company has processed more than 147 trillion tokens and powered the creation of over 80 million virtual computers supporting millions of users and businesses worldwide.

Meta plans to integrate Manus’s technology across its consumer and business products including Meta AI enabling billions of users to access agents that go beyond content generation to perform end to end work in real world environments. The acquisition also brings Manus’s engineering and research talent into Meta’s AI organization strengthening its capacity to deploy reliable and scalable autonomous agents across its platforms.
Industry analysts view the acquisition as a strategic validation of Manus’s long standing focus on autonomous agents as an execution layer for artificial intelligence systems designed not just to assist but to act. Through continuous product iteration Manus has focused on improving reliability scalability and practical usefulness across a growing range of use cases.
Despite the change in ownership Manus has emphasized continuity for its customers. The company will continue to sell and operate its subscription services through its app and website maintaining its existing product philosophy and decision making structure.
“Our solution is already driving value for millions of users worldwide” the company noted adding that the long term ambition is to expand its services to millions of businesses and billions of people across Meta’s platforms.
Commenting on the acquisition Xiao Hong CEO of Manus said the deal provides the company with a stronger and more sustainable foundation for growth without altering its core identity.
