25 Years On, NOG Energy Week Continues to Shape Africa’s Energy Future

Nigeria is intensifying efforts to achieve its ambitious target of producing 2.5 million barrels of crude oil per day by 2026, leveraging deep offshore developments, the reactivation of dormant oil fields, and the continued implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).

Recent figures released by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) indicate significant progress, with national oil production rising from approximately 1.46 million barrels per day in October 2024 to nearly 1.8 million barrels per day by mid-2025. The increase reflects the impact of enhanced security measures across key production corridors, renewed investor confidence, and ongoing reforms within Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas sector.

Against this backdrop, industry stakeholders are set to converge at the 25th anniversary edition of NOG Energy Week Conference & Exhibition, scheduled to hold from July 5 to 9, 2026, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

The event will bring together global energy leaders, policymakers, investors, financiers, technology providers, and industry experts to deliberate on strategies aimed at unlocking capacity, mobilising investments, and accelerating innovation across Africa’s energy value chain.

For 25 years, NOG Energy Week has established itself as the premier platform shaping the future of Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa’s energy industry. Since its inception, the event has served as a trusted hub for strategic dialogue, partnerships, and commercial deal-making across the oil, gas, LNG, power, renewable energy, and emerging technology sectors.

Its legacy includes advancing local content development, fostering strategic alliances, facilitating multibillion-dollar investments, and supporting the continent’s transition toward a more secure and sustainable energy future.

Speaking ahead of the landmark edition, Country Director, Nigeria and Portfolio Director, Energy for dmg Nigeria events, Wemimo Oyelana, described the conference as a defining moment for Africa’s energy sector.

“The 2026 edition of NOG Energy Week is not just a celebration of this remarkable journey but a decisive moment to align leaders and chart the course for the next phase of Africa’s energy progress. NOG Energy Week is a dynamic space where ideas converge, investments are catalysed, and partnerships are born,” Oyelana said.

The anniversary edition will feature an expansive programme designed to address the sector’s most pressing priorities. Key components include the Strategic Conference, Technical Seminar, Nigerian Content Seminar, International Exhibition, Energy Awards, Energy Club, and Leadership Roundtables.

The platforms will focus on critical themes such as energy security, financing, industrialisation, decarbonisation, and the adoption of innovative technologies necessary to drive Africa’s energy transformation.

As the global energy landscape continues to balance the dual imperatives of economic growth and sustainability, NOG Energy Week 2026 is expected to reinforce its position as a leading convening platform where policies are shaped, partnerships are forged, and actionable commitments are made.

The milestone edition will not only celebrate the event’s enduring legacy but also reaffirm its role as a catalyst for the future of energy development across Africa and beyond.

NOG Energy Week is Africa’s foremost platform dedicated to advancing the global energy industry through bold conversations, strategic partnerships, and investment opportunities that accelerate market growth and sustainable development. The five-day event convenes stakeholders from across the entire energy ecosystem, including oil and gas, power generation, renewable energy, finance, technology, and infrastructure, all working toward building a secure, equitable, and sustainable energy future for Africa.
