Xtralarge Group to Champion Preventive Healthcare with Wellness Festival

The Group Managing Director of Xtralarge Group, Dr. Moji Davids, has announced plans to host the Xtralarge Wellness Festival, a flagship health and wellness initiative designed to promote preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyles and community wellbeing.

The festival, themed “A Movement for Healthier Living,” will take place on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the LCCI Conference and Exhibition Centre, Plot 10, Nurudeen Olowopopo Street, behind MKO Abiola Gardens, Alausa, Ikeja, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The event is expected to convene healthcare professionals, wellness experts, nutritionists, fitness enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, community leaders and members of the public for a day of education, health screenings, networking and practical wellness experiences aimed at encouraging Nigerians to adopt healthier lifestyles.

Speaking ahead of the event, Dr. Davids said the festival reflects Xtralarge Group’s commitment to improving public health through education, awareness and access to preventive healthcare resources.

According to her, the increasing prevalence of lifestyle-related diseases underscores the need for individuals to become more intentional about their health by embracing balanced nutrition, regular exercise, routine medical check-ups and healthier daily habits.

She explained that the Xtralarge Wellness Festival is not merely an event but a movement that seeks to inspire individuals and communities to place greater value on their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

“Our vision is to create a platform where people can access reliable health information, interact with professionals, undergo basic health screenings and discover practical ways to live healthier lives. Good health is one of the greatest investments anyone can make, and prevention remains the most effective approach to achieving long-term wellbeing,” she said.

Dr. Davids noted that the festival has been carefully curated to provide participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experiences that can positively influence their health choices.

One of the highlights of the event will be free health checks, providing attendees with access to basic medical screenings and professional guidance on managing their health. Medical practitioners will be available to offer advice on maintaining healthy lifestyles and preventing common health conditions.

Participants will also enjoy dance-for-wellness sessions, demonstrating the role of physical activity in promoting cardiovascular health, reducing stress and improving overall fitness.

The programme will feature comprehensive nutrition and healthy living sessions, where experts will educate participants on healthy eating habits, balanced diets and lifestyle practices that reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

Recognising the importance of women’s health, the organisers have included dedicated sessions on fibroid awareness and women’s health, providing education on reproductive health, early detection, treatment options and preventive care.

The festival will further feature wellness talks led by experienced healthcare professionals and wellness practitioners, covering topics such as preventive healthcare, stress management, mental wellbeing, healthy ageing and holistic wellness.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore a wide range of organic wellness products, showcasing natural health solutions and innovative products designed to support healthier living.

Beyond the educational sessions, the festival aims to foster collaboration through networking and community engagement, creating opportunities for healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, wellness advocates and organisations to build partnerships that advance public health initiatives.

The organisers have also planned wellness experiences, giveaways and demonstrations on food remedies for common illnesses, highlighting how nutrition and natural ingredients can contribute to improved health outcomes.

Dr. Davids stressed that one of the primary goals of the festival is to encourage Nigerians to shift from a treatment-focused healthcare culture to one that prioritises prevention and healthy living.

She noted that many non-communicable diseases, including hypertension, diabetes and obesity, can be significantly reduced through increased awareness, healthier lifestyles and early intervention.

“As a society, we must begin to see wellness as a continuous lifestyle rather than something we pursue only when illness occurs. Through this festival, we want to empower people with practical knowledge that enables them to make informed decisions about their health and inspire them to become ambassadors of healthy living within their families and communities,” she said.

She added that the initiative aligns with Xtralarge Group’s broader vision of creating positive social impact beyond business by investing in programmes that improve the quality of life for individuals and communities.

As preparations enter the final stages, Dr. Davids encouraged members of the public to participate in the festival and take advantage of the opportunity to receive free health screenings, learn from industry experts, discover wellness solutions and become part of a growing movement committed to healthier living.

She reaffirmed that the Xtralarge Wellness Festival represents a long-term commitment by Xtralarge Group to champion preventive healthcare, promote wellness education and inspire healthier communities across Nigeria.
